Perhaps not so surprisingly, I’ve fallen behind on my 52 ancestors posts. I’m hoping to catch up. Here’s a short post on Henry Jones to get me me going again.
I wrote a post about my ancestor Rachel Jones, wife of Jacob Witmer, back in 2014. I did not have information regarding her parents. At the time I postulated that Henry Jones was Rachel’s father, but I did not know the name of his wife. I’m still looking for evidence of who she was.
I’ve been researching and gathering information on John Jones of Philadelphia, because I think I may be descended from him. So, I’ve been searching through the Quaker meeting records on Ancestry, looking to document information that I’ve found in online forums. One of the items I’m searching for is the maiden name of John Jones Jr.’s wife. This post details the information I’ve found on the marriage of John Jones and Margaret Waterman in 1702.

Edward J. Witmer, son of John and Rachel (Jones?) Witmer, was born in Quakertown 13 Oct 1833 and died near Finland 24 Jan 1912. His wife, Lydia Amanda (Kline) Witmer, daughter of Philip and Lydia (Markly) Kline, was born 26 Mar 1836 near Pennsburg and died 30 Mar 1926 in Red Hill.
